Braces at the Impladent Clinic

A beautiful smile is a huge asset in both personal and professional relationships. At our clinic, we show that it’s never too late to start orthodontic treatment. We offer professional diagnostics and treatment provided by experienced orthodontists who regularly present their work at international conferences.

Orthodontic Treatment in Gdańsk

We treat patients of all ages—from children to adolescents to adults. The results of treatment are not only aesthetic but also beneficial to overall health. Correcting malocclusions helps prevent tooth decay, periodontal disease, and excessive tooth wear. Furthermore, proper tooth alignment protects the temporomandibular joints and improves comfort in daily life.

Early orthodontic treatment in children promotes proper speech and makes it easier to bite and chew food, which leads to better nutrition and harmonious development. Among teenagers, fixed braces are often seen today as a fashionable symbol of caring for one’s health and appearance. In adults, orthodontic treatment improves not only function but also facial appearance—it slows the aging process, rejuvenates the face, and restores self-confidence.

Orthodontic Treatment Step by Step

1 Step

Orthodontic Consultation During the first visit, the orthodontist discusses the patient’s expectations, analyzes the malocclusion, and selects a treatment method and orthodontic appliance. Diagnostic tests are ordered, including X-rays, CBCT scans, models, or intraoral scans.

2 Step

's Personalized Treatment Plan Based on the data collected, the orthodontist prepares a treatment plan, which is discussed in detail with the patient.

3 Step

Proper orthodontic treatment
involves applying appropriate forces to the teeth using braces to gradually move them into the correct position. Treatment lasts about 2 years on average and requires follow-up visits every 6–8 weeks.
In more complex cases, we use orthodontic microimplants (PSM, Hybrid Hyrax, BENEfit TAD) or custom-designed appliances to expand the jaw and reposition the teeth within the dental arch. In certain situations, treatment may be supplemented with surgical procedures, such as corticotomy.

4 Step

Retention Once active treatment is complete, the retention phase begins—the process of keeping the teeth in their new positions. This is an important stage because teeth naturally tend to shift back to their original positions. Using retainers helps preserve the results for years to come.

5 Step

Our clinic provides orthodontic treatment that meets the highest global standards—thanks to the experience of our orthodontists and our access to state-of-the-art technology.

Fixed braces

Fixed braces are the most commonly used orthodontic systems. The brackets are attached to the teeth for the entire duration of treatment, ensuring consistent performance and precise results.

  • Fixed metal braces—a classic solution, with the option to personalize them with colored elastics.
  • Fixed aesthetic braces—discreet and matched to the color of your teeth.

Treatment with fixed braces usually takes between 12 months and 2.5 years, depending on the type of malocclusion.

Removable braces

Removable braces are used primarily in children during the period when their upper and lower jaws are still growing.

  • prevent malocclusions,
  • support the proper development of the masticatory system,
  • They are removable—they require consistency and discipline.

Patients wear the removable appliance for several hours a day and at night, as directed by their doctor.

Invisalign – Invisible Aligners

Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic treatment method that uses clear aligners.

  • Custom-designed aligners move the teeth step by step,
  • The covers are discreet, comfortable, and easy to keep clean,
  • The duration of treatment depends on the defect and the patient’s commitment.

Thanks to Invisalign Gdańsk, even adults who don’t want to wear traditional braces can enjoy a straight and beautiful smile.

Your most frequently asked questions

Is it possible to start orthodontic treatment right away if you just want to improve the appearance of your teeth?

No. Orthodontic treatment can only begin on healthy teeth. Before braces are fitted, a consultation, a full diagnostic evaluation (X-rays, scans), treatment of cavities, and professional dental cleaning are required. Oral health is an absolute priority and a prerequisite for starting treatment.

What is the difference between a fixed and a removable appliance?

Fixed braces are bonded to the teeth for the entire duration of treatment and work 24/7 to correct complex malocclusions. Removable braces The patient puts them on and takes them off on their own. They are mainly used for children or to treat minor irregularities. Their effectiveness requires a great deal of self-discipline.

Is treatment with fixed braces painful?

At the start of treatment and immediately after activation appointments, you may experience temporary discomfort or mild tooth sensitivity due to tooth movement. This sensation usually subsides after a few days. If necessary, you can safely take standard, over-the-counter pain relievers.

How long does treatment with braces take?

The duration of treatment varies from person to person, depending on the type of malocclusion, the patient’s age, and the method used. On average, treatment lasts from 1.5 to 2.5 years. For minor corrections, this period may be shorter, and for complex malocclusions, it may be longer.

After the braces are removed, can the teeth return to their original positions?

Yes, teeth have a natural tendency to return to their original positions. That is why the retention phase is crucial after the braces are removed. The patient receives a retainer (fixed or removable) that stabilizes the results and prevents the malocclusion from recurring. Wearing it as directed is mandatory.

Can Invisalign aligners correct every type of misalignment?

The Invisalign system is effective in treating a very wide range of malocclusions. However, in the case of certain highly complex skeletal abnormalities, treatment with fixed braces may yield more predictable results. The final decision on eligibility is always made by an orthodontist.
